Default My new project

This is a project I've been wanting to do for a long time, a portrait of my daughter. I want to try a portrait first and if that comes out ok, I'll want to try one in the round I have carved native americans and have a realistic carving of Elvis, but this is more realistic to me. this is where I am at presant time, I do miss Doris she is really good a realistic carving but I'm not sure if she post anymore. The carving will be basswood 8 x 13 x 3" I will post more as I progress.

I'd second that Feb, there's not much out there for carving the female face.

That is looking very good so far though will keep an eye on this one see if I can pick up and tips!

Looking great so far, will keep an eye open for the updates. Will the carving be for your daughter?

Looks like a great start. You have a good eye for carving what you see. That is a gift. I just got Ian Norbury's Portrait carving DVD. I hope to start on the grand kids soon. Not sure how I will do.
