Default My latest relief Carving!

This is my latest relief carving from Lora Irishs' "Wildlife Carving Patterns".
i also wanted to share some pictures of some wood I received from Johnson wood products. I am very pleased with the walnut and butternut relief boards they sent me. As always, I would like to hear your thoughts/comments on my relief carvings as I am knew to this and want to learn all I can.
Thank you,
David

Great relief carving, keep up the good work. That looks like a nice box of relief panels, can you give me some more info. on it (variety, sizes, price etc.). Not much info on their website.
By the way, how is the walnut for relief work?
Thanks, Tom

Thank you SM!
Tom,
The website is pretty vague on carving boards except for "The carvers special" for $50.00. So I called them and told them what I was looking for, species of wood, sizes and so forth, he gave me a quote and sent me the wood. Very friendly people and easy to deal with, I couldn't be happier. I just started carving and have only carved in basswood, haven't tried the walnut yet.

Nice job David! I have not done any relief carving myself, I am planning on taking a relief class at the up coming Fl. roundup.
