Default My Interpretation of a Big Horn Sheep

Here's a beautiful but very hard piece of cherry stump wood that I visualized the horn and then just started whacking away. Turned out ok but don't think I'll try another in that kind of wood, too much grain variation. Hope you enjoy, he's 21" x 11". Thanks for looking.

Dan

Dan,my good friend, you sure are pouring it on big time now. This is such a creative carving and you nailed the Big Horn Ram just right.Such impressive details keeping them in proportion in a hard wood as cherry.

In simple words,Just a great carving plus the finish is just right also.Great work Dan!

Beautiful work, Dan. Just how hard is cherry to carve?

Hi Dan, great carving I love the contemporary look and appeal of the piece. I can see where the grain would have certainly presented a big challenge which you handled well. What finish did you use?

Very Nice Sheep Dan and a beautiful piece of wood! And though I'm sure the cherry gave you headaches, I think it was worth it!
