Default My First Santa Carving
Today I found a youtube video for a simple santa. I decided to give it a try today and here is my first attempt. I am new to carving just under 2 weeks and have lots to learn about carving and painting too. This forum looks like a great place for information and examples. Thanks.

You did a Great Job on your first attempt! I've only been doing this for a little over a year and I remember what it felt like to finally get something done that I really liked (it took me more than one try). Youtube has been really good for me. Check out the stuff from Gene Messer (the 5 min Santa...took me a lot longer) and Carverswoodshop by Arleen...really neat projects that are good looking and increase your skills.
