Hello Everyone, Just attempting to post one of my carvings...I have been carving for about eight months and have referred to the message board quite often...thanks for all your suggestions and helpful hints...hopefully I do this correctly....this is my first attempt. Thanks Turk |

Very nice old soldier and like the natural finish on him. How big is this carving plus what type of wood is he carved in? Once again,you did a great job carving all the fine details in this bust. Forrest

Dear Forrest, The carving is a Conferderate Solider it is a Rex Branson roughout and has a Boiled Linseed finish (two coates). I believe it is basswood and it is about 9 inches tall..the picture does not show the details of the carving....the picture flash washed out the details...I could not figure out how to get the flash turned off on my camera...ha turk |
