Great: the offset point and the splash hole will make that quite a prized possession.
What's it finished with?
Does mesquite stand up well to food stains?

But like any good skew chisels, you'd better make that a pair!

That's an interesting design, Bob. It looks like you have a bowl (like a spoon) as opposed to the one I did with flat sides. I like it. The mesquite looks good.

Can you tell me how you finished it? I sanded mine to 600 grit before finishing with Howard Butcher Block Conditioner.

And a caution. I learned over the weekend that if the handle is less than 1/4 inch thick, you'll probably end up breaking it.

Very nice. Hard to beat wooden utensils and it's even nicer when you make your own.

Great piece Bob! I like this one alot.

Hope you're not too submerged there in Ridgewood (I used to live in Wayne, and know how it can get in NJ with alot of rain)

It was finished with Howard Butcher Block Conditioner...sanded with 325 grit (that's the finest I had). Handle is about 3/8" so it should be alright. Thank you everyone for the nice comments!
