This is my first finished mask of my son's face as he is leaving the ocean after surfing. The face is Cedar, and the hairpiece is Sycamore. Both pieces are "found wood" The Cedar is from a tree felled by hurricanes on the banks of the NE Cape Fear River in Wilmington, NC. The Sycamore was salvaged from a downed tree.
Well done, the contrasting woods used to great effect. Love the hair, just as it would look coming out of the surf line. Great finish too.
