Default My carving family

As most of you know I have just returned from Knox County Indiana after attending the Chazfest festival. While I was there I met some really wonderful people. This post you may say is not about woodcarving. I would beg to differ it is all about woodcarving While I was in Indiana I met some really wonderful people from towns like Bicknell, Bruceville, Oaktown, All of these people are middle class americans, all of them work long and hard hours to provide for their families. I felt that I was among people who live pay check to pay check. Yet I was humbled by their generousity and hospitality. Small town america I call it no different really than most states when you get away from the cities. We as Canadians dont apprecitate the very affluent nation that we live in. This is evident by listening to people who complain about this country and taxes etc. An average house in Canada sells for around $300,000.00, everyone drives a new car most houses have two or three cars at least. We have no abandoned buildings or ghetto's, we all live here pretty well. The reason I mention this is that even though these people dont have a lot of money they would and did give me anything I wanted. I was a somebody although I didnt want to be. They went out of their way to make sure that I was taken care of even if it meant they were not. I really appreciated everything that happened to me in that small community in Indiana. I want to say thankyou to all those wonderful people that I met for the way they excepted me as if I was family. I also want everyone here to know that I appreciate all of you and what you contribute to this forum. So if something is said that you dont agree with, just take it for what it is worth. If you disagree dont lets get into a he said she said discussion on this forum. Not that it is happening I just wanted you to know the way I feel . This is all about woodcarving and we are all one big woodcarving family, and folks family is family.
I know I ramble but I do speak from the heart if it has offended you I am sorry but I do care for you all
Colin
P,S. Always excuse my spelling unfortunatly I only have a grade 8 education one of my regrets.

Colin that was a very nice post! I for one, thank you for the wonderful compliments that you paid our fellow woodcarvers to the east of my family and myself! Since we live just south of the Candian border here in Washington, we meet alot of Candians and will 're-pay' the compliment! When we first moved up here, we met alot of our 'Northern Brothers and Sisters' and couldn't have been treated or helped by nicer individuals...always a pleasure meeting and chatting with them and enjoying our sharing the love of our countries!!!
