Default {Mtn Wizard}

Sat.while out and about ckn out antq & junk stores at this one junk store going up to NC,found this old drift wood in a box in the store. Some one had sprayed a gloss finish all over it which I sanded off to let the natural redish wood to show again. Sunday afternoon,I carved the front of it as a Mtn Wizard.

Its a hard redish wood{wasnt cedar}I had to carve where the wood would let me. Hes got a mtn hat on and leather stiched coat{only can see part of it on his right shoulder} Hes 7 1/2 X 13 1/2 inches and painted with acrylics. It will have a wire hanger on the back. Sure hope if he sells, I'll get my $1.50 back Id paid for it! {cause thats all my wife allows me to have is $2.00 a wk to spend} Shessssssssss so good to me!!

As always your thoughts or comments are always welcome.

Thks' Forrest

P.S I had planned on leaving it all natural wood after he was carved but it was just too dark and I had cut holes for his eyes which made it harded once I decided to paint him and his eyes. Scareyyy eyes!

You get $2.00....well, I'm going to have to speak to my better half! Apparently, I'm not getting the cost of living increase that some of you are getting. Great carving forest. Your style of carving, and painting, always impresses me.

LOL You do such a great job with all of your carvings and I appreciate your nice thoughts about this old mtn wizard.

Hi Forrest,

Nice one. Eyes don't look too scary.

Hey guys, I get more than $2.00 a week. Of course I don't see it cuz my wife holds it for me and she usually spends it for me, too.

Ron T it was hard painting his eyes,seeing Id carved them out thinking I would leave this carving natural. Could have done a better job painting them with out holes in the eye sockets. My wifes brings every penny home to me every wk??

"Sure she keeps the bills and I get the pennys!! "

Thanks Ron for your neat thoughts and your nice comments,glad you liked him.

Hi Forrest,

Hey, this is a VERY cool piece. You sure work wonders with your $2.00. I'd better not show this one to my wife or else she'll cut me back to $2. after seeing what you can do!

Great work!

Mark
