Default :Mr.ElMore:

Mr Elmore is a old mtn man that always can be seen with his critters in his hands. He lives up in the high mtns thats so tall rain doesnt hit the ground when it falls.

He loves his pet possum that hangs on his shoulder with his pig at his side, then theres a chipmunk in his beard trying to hide.

He'd give you the clothes off his back but hes been wearing them over 40 yrs now, they are all dirty as can be plus I dont think they would fit me.

Hes good ole man that out lived many of the mtn folks but even the smell from him would make you choke. Some say, only bath he gets is when he comes down below, where the rain can hit him from head to toe.

I like the old man myself and hes always been good to me,he's given some little carvings hes whittled from a old pine tree. Little men or animals he'd hand me,You like em boy, heres you some toys.

About 2 weeks ago on a Sunday afternoon,me and my wife rode up to the lake.To get to the water we had to drive through the camping area, there was a chuck of wood someone had left near a fire pit.Stop I told my wife, she knows me,Ive spotted some wood. It was burned some but I knew I could clean it up. Dont know what type of wood it is but sure hard, isnt from up here! Campers bring firewood alot of times with them.

Its got dark brown and orange stripes in it.

Well I hope you enjoy this crazy old mtn man and his friends.{animals}

Hes 7 1/2 wide and 15 inches tall.

Thanks for looking

Forrest

outstanding Forrest... I thought for sure it would be a piece of Elm, considering the old mountain man's name.

Good one Forrest!
15 FEET tall???
Is that a typo 15 feet you could have made a couple hundred of your normal carvings
Nevertheless a great carving as usual no matter what the size

Forrest,
Great job on this one. Like the story and the carving. Oh I how I would love to turn you loose on an old wooden barn. I know you remember those old "mail pouch" and "see rock city" barns. Could you imagine the scene you could do with one of those. As always thanks for sharing.

Safe carving and God Bless,

Mark
