Hello,

I am making the assumption that you are talkign about a lathe here, and not anything related to carving. First, check the owners manual, it should state what kind it takes. Second, search the internet for your brand of lathe. Finally, call your local Woodcraft store, and they should be able to help you. What kind is it? Most of the Jet, Rikon, PSI and Delat lathes are MT2. The 12' Seras, and the Shop Fox are MT1.

Turning,
Dan
