Default more work on grandaughter

I'm sorry, I know I said I would send a ton of pics but this carving really gave me a headache for a while I had all kinds of problems , carved off all my points of referance, couldn't get the right angles right, just a lot of things, so hear is where it's at now and i will send more pics as I get further along. comment welcome.

Looks like it is coming along nicely. I would consider that beyond my capacity for now, but its because I'm still trying to learn how to carve a face.
Don't let the problems and headaches get the best of you.
Sometimes you gotta have rest from a project.

When I'm drawing I use the inside corner of each eye as my most constant frame of reference. I use a compass for distance from the corner of each eye and an adjustable angle to go from there. Most young faces are almost perfectly symmetrical, so comparing each side helps. I haven't carved anything this advanced yet, but I hope it helps.

Thanks Beagangles I have this problem with every carving, getting the eyes and nose right, nomatter what I try I still have problems I use calipers dividers etc.I think I'm just to criticle and afraid to make the cut and make a mistake. It might get easier after I do 10 or 20 more. Gues I,ll have to rent a few grand children. lol
