you never cease to amaze me with your talent those bark carvings are so beautiful I can see that it doesnt matter what you carve it always turns out so wonderful. If those are your first bark carvings I cant wait to see what you accomplish in the months to come. I like bark carvings as well there is no grain to fight with, mind you being so fragile has its own problems as you probably know. Again a magnificent carving and thanks for sharing them with us. For those of you that havent seen a Deborah Call carving close her eyes are the most facinating really real looking. Thanks Deborah for the inspiration.

| | Re: More cottonwood bark carvings! Thanks for the compliments guys! Kenny, your little bride should be proud of her bark carvings, I'd never have thought to do those subjects, I'm getting more and more inspiration every day! Thanks for sharing them!
Colin, I like the idea that I inspire someone, usually I think it's more like I drive people crazy (at least I get that impression from the hubby! ) It's so great to have found this message board and so many 'like spirits' (you know, obsessive wood carvers!) Callynne |

| | Re: More cottonwood bark carvings! Deborah, you go, girlfriend! I knew you'd love carving that bark - just like Art says, "it's magic".
You continue to amaze and inspire me.
Oh, hey, I really like those sunflowers, too - there are alot of creative people in this gang - great to see. I just recently did one of my guys with sunflowers - my first to play with sunflowers. Fun.

| | Re: More cottonwood bark carvings! Thanks fopr the kind words of the little bride's Sunflowers. Terri, she is doing a Sunflower Santa now for a lady at church. How neat that two great minds have the same , Bet yours will be much different than hers as I think she just plans on painting the sunflower on her Santa. But then, One never knows what is in her mind.
I have been trying to get her to join the board. But, her scrapbooking boards take top billing.
Maybe someday.
It is nice when we both sit and carve together. | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
