Merle, I don't remember meeting you , so I've forgotten how well you know me.
Can I relate? To what? Oh Yeah, the poem, that's what we were talking about right?
Now wait a second I was just about to type something else but,,,,,
I think I have to go into the other room ,,,,for something...I'll think of it when I get there I'm sure,,,,,,

I like to see things in a positive way.
Sure,,my memory might not be what it used to be,,but I like to think that my ability to forget stuff is much better than it used to be. See,,I'm improving every day.

We recently celebrated our 32nd anniversary and I told my wife I'm glad we've known each other for so long and so well. Now hopefully what I forget , she remembers and vice versa. Maybe our two minds can equal one decent one together. One picks up where the other leaves off. We can finish each others sentences or tell each other what they went into another room to look for. This should work provided we loose alternate parts of our minds. If we both forget the same things though , who really cares? We won't be aware of it.

Gee,, I forgot I knew that.

As long as she doesn't forget how to cook, and I don't forget how to carve, we should do OK. Even if it devolves into me sitting in the shop carving and thinking " I don't know who that nice woman is in the house, but I hope she makes more food,,it's good and I'm hungry" " She seems nice, I wonder if she's married?"

And she'll be in the house thinking,," I wonder if that man out in that shop making those pretty carvings will come in today and eat my food?" " You know,,the way to a mans heart is through his stomach,,, I wonder if he's married?"

Morning Merle - Good Morning MArk! While there are some things I know I will never forget, like cooking my Grandmas Spaghetti Sauce or Making my moms potato Soup, I am a bit worried...I went to get the milk out for the boys cereal and found my hair brush... My boys laughed and my mom in law said that this is where it starts, while my husband just said "Eeew".
I have some lucid moments, I think, but I'm sure that they are few...I'm just glad the Milk was not in the hairbrush drawer...

Merle where did you find my poem? I must have written it but I can't remember when, where or what I had done with it. It is so me that I had to have written it, but by the looks of things others must have written it also. Maybe we all saw it on a billboard somewhere and just can't remember where and we could all claim it as being our own.

Very nice find Merle and nice to see that I'm not the only one around here with that problem. Not that I would wish this on anyone because sometimes it is so frustrating.

Ken

Hey, what an interesting thread, can't believe I almost missed it!
Not too late to join in ,,is it?
Merle, this reminds me of a poem I read just this morning somewhere on the internet on a related topic,,Went something along the lines of:

My forgetter's getting better
But my rememberer is broke
To some of you that may seem funny,,

I forget the rest but I'll go look for it for you. Now just where did I see that poem?????
