Question Moose Antler carving

A friend gave me a set of moose antlers to carve and I have never done one before. Can someone tell me what kind of tool to use?

The only way I"ve ever seen antlers carved with is power tools. Simplyme is right... the dust produced from the antlers is toxic to your lungs, so wear a mask and have a dust collector handy!

Check the following for info on carving moose antlers

www.angelfire.com/de2/matz/index.html

by Bill Matz. Bill used to instruct; but, has retired now. If his book is still available, I would recommend buying it if I were carving moose antlers.....even if I never intended to carve but one.
