Default Mongolian Wise Man

This character looks very similar to a carving a did a while back and he was a Mongolian with a braided mustache. Well this guy has the same look so he's dubbed the "Mongolian Wise Man". He is carved in raw basswood and stands a little over three feet. I finished him a while ago but forgot to post pics. I was going for a beard like elder Asians might have but my daughter said the whiskers are too dense. Thanks for viewing.

Yes, he does look inscrutable! Must be very wise! The bark above the face adds to the "Asian" look.....it looks like he is wearing a tall hat. First Class!

Thanks everyone. Now that I see his pictures posted, I may consider putting some sprigs of hair along the side to give him a more wild look. I made his forehead a little high to recover any wood so he will be a balding Mongolian Wise Man.
