Default Miniature Led Lights

This is not about carving per-se, but I am looking for really small led lights to put behind some carvings, or inside to light them up, like bark carving etc.

Anyone know where some can be purchased. I went to Hobby Lobby thinking they might have some for the doll houses, but not what I was looking for.

I do remember seeing some that were multi-color and used in a Halloween setup, but that was several years ago.

Any help would be welcomed.

Thanks and Happy Carving.

Did you look at the HO train section? There are a number of lights that might be adapted for your use. Another option might be Radio Shack - they have quite a variety of stuff. Anf finally, you might be able to modify small LED Flashlights - for the red color, look in to theatrical lighting red gels.

Do they have to be LED? There is a product known as "Teeny bulbs" that have very tiny bulbs.

Edited to add...Check out a place called LittleBrightLights dot com...they have tiny LED bulbs, too.

Take a look at Radio Shack. If you can solder, you can make your own pretty cheaply. This is how I light my bark houses. LED, some wire and a battery (AAA).
Good luck

I have a bunch of "shifting-color" LED lights, they were parts of solar-powered lawn/garden lights. For half a dozen reasons, the things have died. . . . all in a BIG box.

You could start by canvassing your neighbors for such broken things.

Winter project for me is to dismantle them all and salvage what works. The only ones with any real 'brightness" are the new, multi-junction LEDs.

Steve: I was looking at RS parts, and many of the LEDs are 1.8 v not the 1.5 v of the standard AA battery. Do you just not worry about it, or do you throw a resistor in the circuit to reduce the voltage?

They run OK. More than 2VDC might cook them. I've always believed that a resistor(eg 1.5k) in series was to limit the current.

Steve is correct...I've bought LED lights at Radio Shack before.
