Thanks Thomp. Don't know why you were fussin about your painting. I love my little guy. Wanda
the paint went a little blotchy, as well as powdery, and there not sealed with antique solution.

Robert CahillThomas,
Got my little hillbilly and jug in the mail today and I really like it. Nothing wrong with the paint next time I carve one I'm going to try and get the elbows back like that. Thanks a lot I really enjoyed it. Family is all here and they enjoyed it also.
the elbows up and back like that show the age of the cariture to me more than the face robert..

Claude Had a nice surprise in the mail last night: A nice little Santa from Blake, a moonshiner and his jug from Thomp, and my copy of WCI finally arrived!

Kris Jackpot mail day for me!
I got a cool hillbilly, His eyes are a squint'n 'cuz he's been into his jug of moonshine. Thanks Thomas - they make nifty little pair.
kris park the moonshine and hillbilly next to the low rent area on your cane, it goes nice next to the outhouse!

Wanda,
Hey Thomp, did you know you didn't sign the carving? Does that mean we really didn't get a carving from you and ya have to do another!!! HA HA HA AHA Only joking Thomp.
Nice try wanda!
i didnt sign a lot of them because it looked so messy, wanda talk to those who got the 2 signed ones, thats why i mentioned the shirt was bubblegum color.

hope i didnt leave out anybody,
them little carvings was fun till my health started getting all goofy, and i got dizzy again.
then carving progress got pitiful, wish i could have done better, all of them, they did have bare feet, but they got really frail with all them toes, so i made clod hoppers, glad i got away not carving the ears, it would have got tedious and frail,
Just hope i did good enough to keep up the faith and keep these cane segments and other group participation projects continuing in the future..

thanks for the nice comments all,

Thomp, If you'd done any better, we'd have to hide the rest. I think mine are wonderful I got from you, even if you didn't sign em.

You know I had to tease you a bit about not signing them. I was tickled to death to get the moonshiner and jug. Great idea.

Sorry you are having dizzy spells again. Any reason why? Stay well my friend.
Wanda

Don't know how the rest of you mini friendship cane participants feel, but damn, we got a mini cane to be proud of. The completion date has come and gone, and we should be in good shape. Frank will be sending his off in the next few days. According to my records, that should be the last segment. Course we do have to allow for the Canadian postal service to "catch up". Anyone who does not have a segment from all participants (except Franks) let me know....This round has been especially fun, and rewarding. Thank you all.

Wow Tom H.
Thanks to you and all of the carvers, this was really great. I have even started one in our club, and it should produce about 4 of them to raffle off at our show this October. The gift that just keeps on giving.

Thanks for the great time. Tom E

It was well worth the effort on my behalf couldn't be happier if i got a speckled puppy!,

Thank you tom for the extra efforts that went untold behind the scenes of the organization of the carve
i truly have learned from the little guys and different carvers that sent their work along, nothing like holding some body carving to tell you how to do it..
and thanks to all the other participants i hope that my efforts were as liked as i enjoy all their work...

hope to do it again some day... maybe Christmas...

would have submitted a photo but the pieces are in time out!
tom ellis's pirate started it!, and the 2 extra hillbilly's, a hippy and farmer got in a fight over the extra jugs, the un painted hillbilly tried to drink the Jeni and the others watched, santa had to leave the scene fore the outhouse, he wet himself, the gnome slipped in the puddle where the snowman was, blamed it on santa, as the wood spirit looked on with a somber stare, eating the micro mini cupcake. but a good time was had by all

I got the last of the friendship exchange piece today in the mail from "Buckskin", Frank. Sure was worth waiting for. Great carving on the edge.
What did you stain it with? Sure is cool.

You others outside the Great State of Oklahoma should get yours soon.

I have to echo Thomp. This was well worth it to participate. I now have study guides of everyont else that did the exchange.

I also noted that the first carvings of mine were not as good as the ones towards the end. I guess you can improve with practice.

I for one will do it again given the chance. I would love to do the Christmas ornament swap. Shouldn't that be starting soon?

Oh and if any of you are looking for a really sharp and good detail knife, give ol' Thomp a holler. I got one of his detail knives that will shave the beard off a fly as he whizzes by ya!
