Blake, I think that there will be enough interest for another round of the friendship cane. Some folks that expressed interest when they missed round one have not responded yet. I will send these folks a PM. I'll be at the Evart Michigan Roundup this week, so I'll wait until I get back to see where we are. Doug, I'll experiment carving a segment that has a larger hole. I'll do one that is 3/4" x 3/4" x 2" and one that is 1" x 1" x 2 1/2". I'll see how large a hole we can go and still have room to carve. We had 13 participants for round one. Round 2 should be no more than 13, but maybe 10 will be a good number. Tom H |

Now that everyone has had a chance to see what fun the first round of the "Mini Friendship Cane" was; and what great carvers we have here - want to do round two??? What about you folks that missed round one? We'll need at least ten (10) participants, in fact that will be the minimum and the maximum. So far I have seven (7) names that have expressed interest in a round two. Tom H |

Well Thomp you are well ahead of us. I cut mine 3/4 x 3/4 x 1 3/4 (just because that is what my wood worked out to). Have carved two so far and am working on the others as we speak. Have to catch up to you!!!!!!! Aren't we the eager beavers!!!!!

Rather than send a bunch of PM's, I'll just post to the general list. The ROUND TWO of THE MINI FRIENDSHIP CANE is under way. I hope that the following folks who have posted expressing their interest are still interested and willing to participate in this second round. We still need a few more! But this is what I have so far: dmatias Thomp Woodchips4u Claude Buckskin Blake Lunsford Tom H Those that counted can see that there are seven (7). We'll need three (3) more. But then again, some maybe willing to carve several so that there are ten (10) completed cane segments. Let me know if there are any changes, in interest in participating. Lets use the 3/4" x 3/4" x 2" maximum blank size. Thanks, Tom H |

Do we still do an extra on for the WCI folds, so they have a copy of this one as well?

I think it's a good idea to do one extra cane segment for the WCI folks... Tom H |
