Default Mini China

This Friday I will be at the VA for my yearly oxygen ck-up. I will have several pulmonary test ran on me.{Im use to them by now} In the lab plus breathing excises and course the old body box which is not my best place to hang out!

The main lady in the lab, loves lab dogs, which I will carve her a black lab as a eye glasses holder.

But this morning, the head of this dept that no matter where me and my wife travel, always has my machine,my tanks and supplies waiting on me in our hotel room for as long as Im there visiting. I just call her 2-3 days of us traveling anywhere and she takes care of my needs.

She and another officer from the VA paid me a surprise visit a few years ago to my home.Cking about my oxygen and the proper storeage and other things on thier list. She noticed we collect Blue Ridge China which was made here in the Mtns about 1 hr from where we live. She also has a larger collection of Blue Ridge China,so my ck up went really well after that. LOL

Blue Ridge china used the poor people here in the Tn.Mtns to hand make and free hand paint the 1000's of designs and patterns and no two are alike, they would some where down the line of workers always add this or that line or a mark to the china. Theres bowls, cups, plates, all sorts of china. They sold more china than any one in the world before WW2 ended, then course Japan took over in the china dept. Blue Ridge started in 1917 to 1957 with several changes but it is very collectorable now.

Thought, with her being so good to me all the time,Id just make her a mini Blue Ridge piece. Plus tomorrow carved the other lady in the lab a blk lab dog.

The plate is 1 1/4 inches and the easel is 1 3/4 inches. Painted with acrylics.Your thoughts or comments are always welcome. Thks---Forrest

Mark my ole buddy, its no bigee with theses test,I get them often. The body box,I dont like,Im not into being held and once inside this glass box where you only get to breathe through a hose when they allow you. Its not as good as M&M's..lol but I always make it ok.
Being good to people is a good thing to people that are good to you and help you. Ive been good to people Ive never seen again but later may be years down the road, you will be helped like you have done in the past.Course theirs some that will take advanage of your kindness and others you just cant help!

Im gald Mark you liked this little min.plate. And thanks for your nice comments here as always.

Throwing china at a monkey in a tree, watch out!! Hes thrown them back at me!!! Forrest

P.S Hope they wasnt Blue Ridge!

Forrest, you ol' softey.....that little mini-plate just "pressed back". Your friend at the VA should absolutely love that, and the thought, as well. I loved your story, as always, and I gain a lot of knowledge just listening to some of the things you tell and talk about in your postings. ('Course, sometimes we have to "sift" for the truth inside the humor in some of your stories....but I'm pretty good at that!) LOL Thank you for sharing all that you do, my friend. Your multi-faceted talents are ever-present in your work! Bonnie

Forrest,
As always I love to see what ever it is you are Working on. I had a box of wood chips and shavings packed up to send your way, but then I realized they may still be too big for anything you carve. Keep up the good work. Good look with your tests on Friday trust everything goes well for you.

Safe Carving and God Bless,

Mark

"He huffed and puffed and he blew the house down!" Give'm heck Old Friend! None of those tests are pleasant but fortunately they don't last all that long! Besides, it sounds like you've got an inside track! Good for you! That gal is going to love that little piece! I remember my Mom had some dishes that looked like that decorating the kitchen when I was a kid but who knows where they went.
