Default Millard Harrell Seminar

Take a beautiful Kansas weekend, 12 enthusiastic carvers and a talented, inspired instructor and you have the recipe for a great Seminar.

That was the scene this past weekend in Augusta, Kansas where our own Forum member Millard (Cottonwood) Harrell conducted a two day Santa face carving seminar. All participants were eager to learn and even the newest carver was able to go home with a good Santa face... and some actually did two while there.

The whole affair offered opportunites to explore new methods and techniques. This writer has done Santas for years and is very happy to have some new "tools" in the box. Millard is a talented, gifted carver and a great instructor who went above and beyond to prepare materials for the class.

Our loose knit group is already looking around to schedule another guest instructor in the area soon. Clubs and groups in KS, MO, and OK could benefit from Millards step by step guidance.

The pictures show the results and the seminar participants.
Thank you again Millard.

Ed

Nice looking Santas Ed. Now the crew on the other hand. Nah, Great looking group. Sorry I miss this one but Father in law's hospital stay took us out of pocket for this class.

Was wondering How it went and glad to see Bob Cain having fun. LOL

Hi Kenny: Yes, this was one the better seminars I've attended. It was a fun group and everyone had a great time.

In all fairness, I should post the website for Millards carvings. Especially those looking for a good Santa tutorial. Nice step by step instructions. Millard is certainly a friend to carving.

Ed was the organizer for the class(2 days) and picked Mr. Harrell for his first of hopefully many more classesMillard was an excellent choice for beginners and experienced carvers. I learned a better way to do eyes and a different way to do the acrylic finish.
Sorry you couldn't make it Ken, maybe next class Ed does?
