Default Mike Shipley in South Carolina

A good friend and I was invited to pertisipate in a Mike Shipley class hoosted by a Local Club.Had a really great time and Mike has a neat teaching ability.If you get the chance to take a class with Mike you will really enjoy it.I'll post some pictures later.

I enjoyed the class I took with Mike. IMHO his style is simple, but has enough detail to make his carvings interesting. I wanted to take another of his classes a few months ago, but had other commitments. Maybe some day.

Here's a few pictures of Mike's things and a class picture,I'll post some pictures of my finished things later.As Bob said he teaches a simple but really neat technique,I'd really advise you to take his class.

Mark .. What a bunch of lucky guys you are .. I bet Mike puts on a great class ..

I have always loved Mikes' simple way of carving ... His figures are such a joy to see and someday i would love to take one of his classes ..

That second picture brought quite a smile when I saw that "army" of santas... then I clicked on the third picture!

Mike is an excellent instructor. I had the opportunity to take his class this year at the rendezvous at Silver Dollar City back in March. It was a great time and his style of carving is fun and surprisingly fast. I just about completed a carving every day.
