Default michelangelo

Am I the only one? I start carving thinking it will be Michelangelo quality after a day it more closely resembles bozo the clown. I had that happen last week but I kept at and things are looking up

My carvings usually undergo some slight modification from the thought in my head and the time the signal gets to the hand that holds the knife. i am sure there must some defect in every knife and gouge I have ever purchased, because I clearly see a better carving inside my brain. If it only happens to you occasionally, you are a lucky man.

I haven't given myself the tag as Timber torturer for nothing. I feel mentally retarded some days when I lop off something, go too deep, or simply go awry.

Huh, I wonder if there are any carvers who don't feel this way.
