On the green banner near the top click the button called "user cp" go to edit profile and optional information and there is a place to add your home page url, your instant message id and if you want your birthdate. (Do you want 1500 people sending you birthday greetings over this list :-D ) Don.

I have put the url and url in brackets on my picture trail site a dozen times and each time it doesn't take and I go back to my profile and my pic trail addy is gone?

That is what I used on mine and it worked, it needs the / in front of the last url
