Question

Nice to see it up and running
I see some members kept their status as senior members and it remembered the # of post they had made while others like me
it put back to junior members and started our post back off at 0

Just started on the site a few minutes ago. So far I like the changes. The only confusing thing is why the Grennich (SP) mean time? most of us dont live there. Great job Merry Christmas, and a healthy prosperous New Year to all. Bill in Omaha

Thumbs up

I don't mind Gmt but up in the right hand corner in the welcome it says I haven't visited this site since 01-01-1970. Back then I didn't know how to work a computer more complicated than a #2 pencil.
I like the black type on a white background and having the WCI links on the same page.
Gotta try the "find a newsstand" and "club search" links under resources yet but I can see where they could be a help to new carvers. Don

Thumbs up New message board

Well after some trial and error I am now onto the board. As others have said it will take a little getting used to but like anything else the more you do it the better you get. As we are human we are all reluctant to change and it is only the fear of the unknown (Stepping out of our comfort zone) hmm seems as if I have heard that before. At any rate I want to thank all the members of Fox Chapel for the improvements before long we will all be tripping around the new message board with no problem.

I hate it when old age takes over or a case of the dumb well lets leave it at that.

Was able to log out and then log in under the old id. Have no except frustrations.

Talking What a difference!

Wow, what a difference a day makes!
It took me 4 tries--it changed the spacing on my log-in name from a space to an underline...thought I'd never figure out who I am!

I think this will be an awesome site once we get used to it. I'm not opposed to new things...just slow to figure some of them out. I love being able to get around on a computer without having to ask my grandkids for help! It confuses them, if nothing else.

Bob, you did good. It is much easier to read messages. I don't have much to add about the titles or classifications to us users. I'm opposed to "Mastercarver " because that is a title that is earned with years and level of expertise in carving. I rarely look at the number of postings an individual has--unless they are a professed newbie and then it sometimes explains why they don't understand the "quality level" of humor we share among old friends here.

It's a great look!

I see the number of posts are not changing....thats what happened on the old board, that and not being able to log in...... Also, I see some have their site address in bold type and you can click on it to open? How do you do that and where?

Default Message Board Going Live

Looking good, still finding my way around the new board. But, I am getting the hang of it (I think) I find I need to scroll to the right to get all the message on the screen at the same time. What am I doing wrong, is there a way to get the whole message pane on the page without scrolling to the right?
You might see I am computer challenged.

Gene
