This Mermaid is approx. 2 ft tall carved in cottonwood bark. The pictures probably look glossy as I didn't give the wood time to dry after applying the sealer. I picked a very difficult posture and turned her head at 45 degrees and back. You will have trouble seeing her scales as they are not set in deep as the bark flakes with this approach with the gouge. I tried to incorporate her hair into the rough bark as you can see. Don't have a frame for this one so it will be sold as is. Hope you enjoy her. Patrick |

The pattern does appear difficult; however, you pulled it off nicely. Her face came out lovely yet mysterious. I also agree that the gain come thought beautifully.

Great job Patrick I see you finally got your bark from Leslie. It is really nice bark I am very pleased with mine. Wow that is one fantastic carving love the way you have done it, absolutly stunning. Never thought anyone could get that much detail into cottonwood bark. By the way looks like we will be making the Nova Scotia trip sometime this spring I will stop in and say hello I will let you know before I come when I will be there. Colin
