Default Memory buster!

Whoever guesses the location of this large mural carving is going to get the coveted AttaBoy/Girl award!Talking Whoever can identify the older gent to the left in the picture will get one of my artist proof engravings from the sold out Abercrombie & Fitch collection..... and I will deliver.
The "kid" to the right is me......... at maybe in my mid-30s, and this would have been 30-some years ago.
Hint #1: Think central California coast, in a very public setting.

he looks like Robert Reford, but 30 years ago, he wouldn't have been an older gent would he? Just a guess.
Wonderful mural carving. You didn't say whether it is your work or not. I'm guessing it is.

Its killing me not to tell the tale of this piece, but I'd like to leave it a while to see if any Californians recognize it.

MA, burning and carving is not the same as playing with matches and knives.

No, but his Granddaughter is a household word. ... and I should add that he was a very well known California woodcarver.

Looks like this is drawing a blank.................. and that tells me I'm not quite as young as I think I am.Cool
I'll post the story this afternoon.............. And the Gentleman to the left is Lucien Hertert, grandfather of Lindsay Wagner (Jamie Summers) of The Bionic Woman fame.

Of course not, BUT.......... had you recognized the mural and researched it's origin you'd have found his name as one of the 5 nationally selected carvers who executed that piece along with his personal bio. Either that or from his haircut.Cowboy
