Question mciro grinder speed ??????????

Hey guys, Have a ???. Whayspeed to you usually run small grinders at. I know the rougher the bit the slower it goes, but do you run even diamond bits at 35,000 rpm. Just curious, I'm thinking of buying an nsk and I can order it with a 27,000 max handpiece thats suppose to be higher torque than the 35,000 one. Since I will use mainly typhoon, kutzall and coaser ruby cutters, I'm wondering if the extra power might be worth the loss of rpm's. Any opinions would be helpful.
Thanks, Al

Folkcarver.

I have a NSK with the 35,000 rpm. I use cutzall , diamonds and rubys and usually run it at top speed. I let the speed do the cutting for me and do not put enough pressure on to slow the speed down. When using a sanding roll I do cut the speed way down. My choice would still be the 35,000rpm if I was replacing my unit. IMHO. Carving

The speed of the cutter depends on the job your doing, and in what type of wood. The harder the wood, the slower the speed. If your doing fine detail, slow the bit down so you can control the cut. I use top speed for stoning with a white stone, medium speed for the red stone. Too high a speed just burns the bit, and the wood. High speed also places extra strain on your handpiece bearings and brushes. Hope this helps.
