Hi Claude

Thanks for the site address so I could check that one out. I went through the whole thing and relived the carving of that one also. I had forgotten about that Greenman. It did not happen to be the one I was thinking of. The one I thought of was of only leaves where he put deep undulations into the leaves, like waves going from base to point and then also some with waves going from side of the leaf to the other side of the leaf. BIG waves running one direction or the other. But, again thanks for the site addy, I have bookmarked it.

I think this is the thread you're looking for. Mark explained the use of the 'S' and the pages of an open book in the design of his leaves.

Doug

Yep, that is the one I was thinking of.... Had I just mentioned "s" curves I think everyone would have know what I was looking for.

Now I need to spend some time looking them over.

Thanks to you and Claude for pointing me in the right direction. BIG help....

Gene

That tutorial was in answer to my asking Mark for help with leaves. He very generously helped me by copying my carving, and proceeding to making it into a successful carving of his own.
It helped me immensely!
