| | Mark Gargac dvd problem POSTED IN 2 PLACES, NOT SURE WHERE THIS BELONGS:
Maybe someone can tell me if they have this problem with there copy of the dvd: mine when you play all, it only plays to the eye section and then after that you have to choose each section after that, and during the vidio there are spots it seems to stop/or/cut out maybe, not sure if that is camera work for dvd...the not playing thru is annoying is all....maybe that is the nature of the beast!....just wondering if anyone else had this problem, I have tried it on 2 dvd players and same problem....tks....
IT IS A GREAT HANDS ON FOR A FEW OR OLD CARVER....

Hi Dennis, The "Play All" button was an option. When we compressed the footaged to disc we knew that we would possibly loose part, or all of this feature. The choice we had to make was more features like this, or more instructuional video, I decided more instructional video would be a better beneifit for the veiwer/carver. The subtle, stop, or cut out spots are just areas that where editied-out, and no carving step, or instruction, was sacrificed in this editing procedure. Frame transistions where put into spots like these where time would allow, the area's that you are seeing are the spots where we could not do this because we needed more then a 3 second frame transistion to make this possible.
I have watched this DVD repeatively, and am always looking for ways for a better understanding in the learning process, so that all who view the DVD can carve a ornament of thier own or take something away from it to incorporate into thier own work. I feel that breaking the carving instruction down into sections, then, step by step with the carving method, is the best way of achieving this. The instruction in this DVD is clear and precise. I truly feel every step of the subject matter was covered in full detail, without a step missed.
We are in the process of creating another DVD. Like my last carving, hopefully the next will be even better!

| | Re: Mark Gargac dvd problem Mark,
Thank you for the clarification on the dvd, I wasn't trying to imply anything really I wasn't, I thought maybe there was just something with the copy I had, it does happen....as long as they are all like that, I am surely live with that issue, no big deal!
I really enjoy the dvd, and there is no question of the quality of the carving being displayed nor the instructional quality in my book, I just thought I had a bad copy was all, and don't know anyone else local that has the dvd, and that was the only reason for the post.....
I look forward to the next, and hoping you will accept paypal soon....no offense was at all intended!.....thanks again for the reply, and you can forget the reply to the email, it was the same, I had sent the email and then the idea struck to ask anyone with a copy here, if there was the same, fine!
Dennis

| | Re: Mark Gargac dvd problem Thanks Dennis and Mark for the comments. Mark, the next DVD is going to be a spin-off of the "Carving Santa Ornaments" dvd titled "Carving Elf Ornaments". This instructional dvd will cover more facial features, emphasis will be on carving the mouth, of course the mouth barrel, chin, jaw line and charactor lines and muscles surrounding these area's will also come into play. Also featured in the DVD will be carving a variety of mouth shapes for different expressions and some different styles of hats and ears, this is going to be a fun one! I attached a couple of sample photos. Thanks for looking and for your comments on the dvd and asking about the next.

| | Re: Mark Gargac dvd problem Hi Mark,
Looks like I will soon have a collection of two of your DVD's. The carving Santa Ornaments is great and I'm not sure how you could improve over that one. Looking forward to carving some elves!
