Default Marionettes

Howdy,
With all the character carvers I see, has anyone tried carving wooden marionettes?

I took a class about 6 years ago. Two grueling weeks with one day off. The instructors came from the Czech Republic. I ended up with two completed marionettes based on Punch & Judy. One is a traditional stringed puppet and the other is a rod puppet. Very interesting class.

Great idea. I did some years ago, but I'm a better carver now. Might be a good way to combine caricature and a little study of anatomy (joints, etc.). I did a pinnoccio for my daughter years ago. Maybe I take a picture and post it.

I've done a bit of the marionettes. I use poplar wood for everything except sometimes douglas fir for the large body pieces. I hope to eventually complete enough to stage a show.
