Default Making Inlays

I'd like to learn how to make inlays, from wood inlays to mother of pearl, etc...

Would anyone possibly have any information on inlays? how-tos or anything...

Thanks for your help,
~Tim

Default Re: Making Inlays

Been a while since I did them , but I think if you look up making an inlay there is a few good websites . Basically it is cut the wood close to size with the correct depth ( routers and even dremel can be used and cut the item ( wood pearl glass plastic ) to fit by either a saw ( scroll) or grind to fit the design, then glue and use wood filler to fill in the difference between the inlay and the opening . Then sand down and finish .

Gituars use a lot of inlay work , might check there first , there are some real artist with inlays there .
