Default Make your carving flow

Hi Gang,
I was looking at Nancy_G santa carving in the holiday thread. I commented on how I loved the way the carving flowed. Not that I show my carvings a lot but I do attend a lot of the carving shows. I know a lot of judges and talk to them all the time. I dont know if I mentioned this before but with them the carvings that win are the one's with the great flow lines. By this I mean a carving that makes you want to follow the flow lines. When you look at it that your eyes want to look at the whole carving to follow the flow lines that take you all the way around the carving. I myself like a carving that does that so I would think that someone buying a carving would be the same way. Just a thought that may help you in your next carving.

Colin,
I have to agree, during the past year I have worked on enhancing the hair on Santa's I have carved from simple "S" lines to attempting to illustrate cross over hairs...while I am finding it difficult, I believe some people are just truly gifted!!:icon6:
