I Just finished up carving "Herby's Angel" from a laminated Mahogany block, that was glued up from a 3/4" board I picked up a Menards. I am gluing up a block from Aspen Pine for another. This project is a favorite of mine not to complicated and it makes a great gift. This one might just hang around home for awhile. Best Regards, Jerry |

Thank You everyone for the kind words. The carving was great fun, but all carving projects to me are fun. I love the way projects just seem to emerge from a solid unformed bock of wood. I am also attracted to Angel carving projects and have started working on an angel Christmas tree ornament out of white aspen pine. Mateo, I really like my Henry Taylor tools. They hold a sharp edge and the rounded handles provide a comfortable grip. The only issue I have with Henry Taylors is that they come an aggressive ground for the edge perspective. By regrinding the tool to a lesser angle allows me to address the wood from a more shallow and easier controlled cutting angle. Thanks again. Jerry |
