Default I'm off to the West Coast carving

Hi Gang,
I will be leaving this weekend and heading for Campbell River, British Columbia, Canada, on beautiful Vancouver Island for a carving competition. For those of you that are new here the competition consists of 32 carvers from around the world but mostly from Canada. It is by invitation only and I am honoured to be going again this year. Elmer who is also on this message board from time to time is going also. You are given a large piece of wood and I mean large, some of those cedars and Douglas Fir are three feet or more across. The competition takes place right on the beach over looking the beautiful Georgia Straits. If any of you get a chance to go Campbell River is the chainsaw carving carving capital of the world. The finished carvings become the property of the town and to this date I believe there are over 175 of them scattered in various points around Campbell River. So I wont be around for a week or so just in case you were wondering why I was so quiet. For those of you that would like to view the past years competitions may do so by following the link on my web site. It is certainly worth having a look at. So all of you take care I will be sure to let you know when I get back and I will post some pictures of this years event.
Colin

See you there Colin. But drive quick so you can get a tree before they all get burnt up in all of the forest fires we are having.
