Default I'm off to Ridgway PA

Hi Gang,
I have recieved a few private emails from members of this message board asking if everything was ok as I have not been on the board very much latley. Yes I am fine just really busy not so much with carving but with life. I have been doing a little carving and teaching the special needs kids at the local school. They are fun to work with and I carved a woodspirit for each of them there were 14 so that kept me busy. I am off to Ridgway PA next week for the week to the Ridgway Rendezvous a chainsaw carving Redezvous with over 200 carvers from around the world attending. We all do a carving and then on the Saturday they are all auctioned off to the highest bidder. All proceeds of the Auction go the the "Make a Wish" foundation. So I wont be around very much for the next week or so I will take lots of pictures and post them when I return.
Colin

The rendezvous sounds like a lot of fun with a worth while end. Have a swell time and take care of yourself.

Colin,
I hope you have a balmy time down there and leave all of this mountain of snow behind you.
After you left today, I decided to carve another Eagle head walking stick. Just put the varnish on it. I didn't have any more eyes so I tried carving them in out of the wood on the head. They turned out pretty good. I must have left the digital camera at the lake or I would have posted a picture for you.
Enjoy your week and get us a bigger place to stay for next year. Here is a couple of pics of the first walking stick.

Bob

Colin, you have a great time down there Old Buddy, and come home with all your parts still attached and functioning!

Hope you raise lots of funds for the kids, it's a great worthwhile cause.

Uhh--I don't think so. I know we're getting either a Nor-easter or a blizzard of 6-12 inches in New Jersey depending on which forecast you listen to. I looked up the weather for Erie, PA and they're getting 3-5 inches. But that's probably a dusting compared to what you get up North!

Colin ya shoulda had the rendevous last month--temps were in the 50's and 60's. Oh well, hope you have a good time. Snow should let up sometime on Monday. So have a safe trip!

Have fun and be safe Colin.
I hope to attend that event someday, maybe as a chainsaw carver....but not making any progress towards that yet.
It does look like the place to be in your world!
I look forward to seeing the pictures when you return.
