Default Lovespoon Lite

This spoon is carved from 1/2"x2"x6" poplar and is finished with Williamsville Wax. This size spoon is intended as wedding favors or gifts to the mothers of the bride and groom. I have more photos and a detailed description of my process on my blog.

Bob, it's obvious you've also found your niche. I found functional spoons and you've turned into an excellent love spoon carver. The simplicity of this spoon makes it special and I'm sure it will be well appreciated by the lovely ladies. Keep them pix commin buddy, who knows, one day I may get up the nerve to try one.

Hi Bob,

Great job you've done here on what looks to be a pretty intricate and delicate piece!

Thanks, Joy.

Cliff, if you started doing lovespoons I'm not sure I could stand the competition!

Thanks, Forrest. That was the first time I used Williamsville Wax. It's a lot less messy than shoe polish, and I really like the finish.

Thank you, Mark. It's a lot more delicate than I intended it to be. I had to "adjust" the design in mid-carve because I made the bowl smaller than it should have been. My blog has details on that along with lots of photos.

Your spoon looks good. I appreciate that you showed us the start point for it. As a newbie this sort of thing is important.

Very nice job on a beautiful love spoon. Something like this with all the complex twists and turns would be quite the challenge for me but the more I see of them, the closer that I become to attempting it. But first I've gotta get my oatmeal scoop carved because I really need that one! Thanks for a nice spoon and the inspiration.
