having gotten older, i have found i cant see for ----. even with bifocals. My dentist uses loupes, to help him magnify the dental work. I have thougth this would be great for detail work. I have googled these things and the loupes the dentist uses cost 500 to 800 bucks, far too much for a hobby woodcarver guy. there are some magnifying eye glasses etc out there, but I am wondering if anyone here might have experience using them and if they are worht the troubles. the ones I have seen clip on to your glasses and seem like a good idea. Yeah I know I show go to the optometrist, but another doctor?

You can't beat the Optivisor for the price. They have available several different strengths lens, so the power and focus distance can be to suit you. I use mine almost daily and it hasn't let me down yet. Bob

I love my magnifier visor!!! I purchased mine from the local Grizzley warehouse here in Bellingham but I believe Harbor Freight also sells a similar set. Mine has two lenses and two battery powered LED lights. I never carve without it as my eyes are not like they were when I was younger. The visors last forever, cheap (about $15 dollars or less...) and are as indispensable for me as my knives and other tools. Much better visability than the cheaper magnifying glasses that other dealers sell. Safe carving to all!!! Kenn
