Default lost forums?

I had to have my computer wiped out yesterday....I received a virus (bad news virus!) that wasn't even listed yet!! anyway, I lost all my addresses in my book, plus my favorites! I can't seem to find the site addresses for the forums I was on, like "the porch", knotholes, Waynes forum etc....if anyone has the addresses, I would appreciate it Dave

I don't know how you logged in to Yahoo, but I have Yahoo listed on my Mozilla personal bookmark menu as ;
http://groups.yahoo.com/mygroups, where I sign on and it takes me to a listing of all my groups on Yahoo...

OG.

Now that's odd, Hi_Ho. Yesterday morning my Outlook scheduler went off saying that I had a scheduled task titled "berl" that wanted to be activated. Now Mike has our Outlook turned off to automatic anythings and neither he nor I had any file or exe titled "berl". I think that the time stamp for it was around 8AM. Mike deleted it because he could not obtain access to inspect the file.

Thanks for the heads up!!!

Susan

I feel for you Dave. I had to wipe mine last week for the same reason. Since I use Yahoo for all of my mail I think the oldest kid got it from something a friend sent him over messenger.

I usually just go to Yahoo and sign in then go to groups. It should list them all for you.

Don't forget to re-add ASA to your favorites. We still need all the posts we can get there!! LOL It is sad that such an active group wasted away due to repeated server changes.

Hi Dave,

Sorry to hear about the Pc problems. I found some Addresses for you.

The woodcarvers Porch has 2 addresses: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/WoodCarversPorch/

http://members.tripod.com/~WoodPorch/index.htm

It looks like Knotholes is an email forum and I found this as an address:
Knotholes@yahoogroups.com

I hope this helps. I have a lot of other links. If you're trying to find any others, just let me know, I might have it.

Sorry to hear that Hi Ho....we've been all been there at one time or another. At least I hear that they are catching more of these hackers and jailing them big time. Just as long as they get their real punishment while inside......no computers! And of course life inside for a computer geek is going to be......shall we say and eye opener! He'll wish he had stayed off line for sure!!! Of that I can assure you!!

Bob

thanks Tina what I need now is "Waynes Forum" address, naturally I haven't seen him on here for awhile....Bob your are right! This wasn't some dumb kid hacking in his room, this is by some company(s) that track you, sell your information(isn't that theft? stealing whats mine and selling it?) and then jam your computer and try to sell you a program to clean it...our illustrious attorney general should go after these clowns instead of Martha Stewart!

Here you go Hi_Ho_Sliver, although I'm at a loss as to why you need each group url, using MY Yahoo to log on presents all the groups you are registered with.
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HouseOfWoodCarving/

And to get Waynes group address I just found a messge here that he posted, the url is on all his messages. .

Hope your computer is now getting back to normal, virus attacks are a PITA.

I wonder who writes those viruses . we got a ton of them this last week and ended up having to delete windows and reinstall all the programs.

As I mentioned on another thread I've been having problems as well, including losing a lot of my bookmarks.
