as the title suggests im looking for a specific carving bench but i dont know the brand name ... i saw a pic of it a while back on the back of a magizine once and ive lost it ... it was very similar to the veritas carving bench, cast iron base just like the veritas only it was way taller. so you could stand and carve instead of seated. does anyone have a direction i might start looking in? or know of a brand name? I believe the bench tilted like the veritas one and swiveled 360 ... but i though it clamped in the middle like a workmate does but its been so long that im probably way off base on that aspect. Any help would be greatly appreciated Thanks Adam |

yah i don't think that sjoberg is the one ... unless im missing something ...none of the ones i saw had cast iron bases. im looking for one that is a pedistal style i beleive it had 4 cast iron (or other metal.. im asuming cast iron) legs very similar to the veritas carvers bench but stood alot higher than that. as for the webpage listed above i couldn't find any link to carving benches on there i must be missing it . where i saw it i beleive was an article in a wood carving mag, about carving benches i think ... but i cant find that magazine anymore i dont thinki it was that long ago either ... with in the last year and a half i believe.... either that or it was in a add on the back of a mag holding a piece and advertising something else entirly ... but im leaning towards the carving bench article... the bench was able to tilt up at an angle but appeared to me to sit at a lvl so when standing you could carve comfortably. anyone have any old wood carving illistrated laying around that might have a article in to about benches? or carving magazine?
