Hi, I recently acquired a head carving from my fathers estate. Problem is that I don't have any experience with this sort of thing and I was hoping someone might recognize the style of workmanship. I assume it has been imported to North America. It stands 20" tall and 7" in diameter. Thank you.

Nice looking carving, I can not help hopefully someone else will be able too. If you can identify the wood it may be a clue as to its origin

Is there any markings on the bottom? I could make a poor guess, but that's all it would be. |

Unfortunately there are not discernible markings on it, I will have to look into the wood type.

| Back in the day I carved things that I thought looked Native American because they sold for three times what my style of carving did. I carved things that looked African as well same results they sold faster and for more money. I only bring this up because I know I was not the only artist that exploited that market. |

All of my carvings are authentic ethnic carvings, and the ethnicity is Caucasian. Oh, and the vintage is late 20th early 21st century. |
