20 or more years ago, I saw displayed at the Alaska Fur Rendesvous in Anchorage, a wood carving titled "Whittler's Father." It was a character that appeared to be an Alaska sourdough miner, carved from a block, except for one lower leg and foot, and the emerging character was holding a knife and carving himself from the block. I have no idea who the artist was, or if the piece was just being displayed or was for sale. Is anyone able to supply information on this piece?
