Looking for a book!

I ordered a book from sugarpine..'Carving Shore Birds' by Anthony Hillman. They never did send it so I called and they said it was discontinued or out of print or something~ I went to amazon.com and the book came up, it has 3 large shorebirds on the cover, an egret, a heron and I believe a pelican...this book also has 12 patterns/plans. When I tried to order from amazon, it kept saying an 'error'. I finally clicked out of amazon and then went back...and now....no book? can't find it on amazon anywhere....and they wonder why people hate these stinking computers!! Help, would love to get this book so I can carve my heron roughout..or egret if that is what it really is! any ideas? (by the way, they show another 'carving shore birds' by him but it isn't the same book, is smaller birds)

Dave, I think I have that book at home (back in Bessemer) but we won't be back till the end of the month....as that is out of print, I can email you some of the patterns if you want.

OK found that book in 'Dover' publications and ordered it, they accepted my order so will see..thanks for the offer! I also found one on 'Hide and Beak' called wildfowl carving reference guides..waterbirds...apparently this is the one that was out of print, but they too accepted my order...I may end up with so much reference material I will be too confused to carve the bird! 'Moir' nevair mon ami LOL (always confused :P)

They carry ALL sorts of books including many out of print ones.
Most of Tony's books are always on eBay but I just ran a search for the one you're looking for and didn't see it today.
And I couldn't find it in my collection. I didn't know I was missing any of Tony's books.

i have the book 'carving water birds' by Anthony Hillman
the cover shows a picture of a pelican,heron,and a glossy ibis.
it also contains patterns and instructions for 12 models.
if this is what your looking for and you don't get it from an other source let me know and i will send you the pattern you need

if you have any way to scan the patterns and email them to me, I would love to have them. If not then i would definitely appreciate it if you could copy and snail mail them.

can probably access a scanner,just need someone with tech skills to show me how to do it,let me know what pattern you would like and i'll get it to you.

Hi Dave,
I think that's the book I got the blue heron pattern from. And I have it, too, if you don't get it elsewhere--let me know.
