Default How long would it take to carve these?

Greetings from Long Island New York.

My wife is from Ecuador and these type of wood carvings are very common down there. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m.re%60j361%3B

My question is how long would it take to carve say these 4 wood carvings?

Thanks in advance as I surf the site on occasion but have never posted. Thanks!!

36 hours.

Just kidding, it is impossible to determine how long it would take someone to produce a carving.

Each carver works at their own speed.

Every carver has differences in technique and uses different tools, and has a different level of carving talent and technical skills.

For myself - self-proclaimed mid-level talent/technical skill - I'd say it would take 2 days for each carving, assuming I could focus for an entire day on one piece.

Pretty cool reliefs. Reminds me of a painting by
Edvard Munch. " The Scream".
