Default Long layoff

Hi all,
Had a little health setback and haven't been up to carving or even posting but getting better by the day. Here's one out of a very old weathered piece of oak. He's 31" tall and 8" wide. Couldn't put much detail because the wood is too far gone. Not my best, but glad to be carving and on the forum again.

Dan

Hi Dan,

Good to have you back. That's a nice carving to get back into the feel of your tools moving through wood.

I hope you recover quickly.

Dan,my friend,I like that old wood spirit. Ive had some old found wood myself that had some hard spots in it and more softer areas and you did a good job with what you had. Plus the main thing is you are back and trying.I hope your health keeps on improving.
Im kinda laying back myself on board here due to I have some all day test next Wed at the VA and I will know once they have the reports if I will need a surgery and Im sure that might slow me down also.

Keep up the good work Dan and I will be ckn on you and you work here.

Forrest

Forrest, thanks for your kind comments and thoughts. I go to the VA in Indianapolis on Tuesday of next week to see a cardiologist. Good luck with your test and hopefully everything will turn out ok.

Dan... That your livingroom? It looks real good there. Like it was made to be right where it is! Nice job! I know exactly how you feel about getting back with the tools. I haven't been able to pick mine up for over two weeks and I've still got a ways to go! I'm really starting to get impatient!
