Default Lone Tree Cabins

Hi All:
This is the last of my presents for family in California and Oregon. Whew!
'Lone Tree Cabins' is going to our daughter and family, she has always wanted one of these whimical houses. Hope she is happy with one from old mom. LOL

The size is 31 1/2" Tall Arizona Cottonwood Bark harvested by me at a near by creek. This is my first color piece, I used Prisma Colored pencils and Oil Pastels for the color. The finish is Danish Oil and Deft Satin Spray Lacquer.

As always I enjoy hearing from you and appreciate your comments.
Kathy

Hi Kathy: What a neat whimsical piece. Will it be used as a wall hanging? Nice choices of color too. Just what we'd expect from an artist! Thanks for sharing.

Wow Kathy, thats awesome ! I really like how you added some color to this carving, I have not tried that yet. That's great that you can harvest your own wood. How does Arizona Cottonwood compare to Cottonwood from the No. West ?

Kathy. Wow! Those are right up there with the best I've seen. Really really nice pieces. And the touch of color sets them apart from the rest....

Ed, Dave, Tom

Ed, thank you, yes it will be a wall hanging. Will be interesting to see where my daughter want to hang it. She is one of my biggest fans so it will have a good place to hang.

Dave: Thank you, give color a try it's fun! Our Arizona Cottonwood Bark isn't as thick as the plains and north country Cottonwood Bark. A good piece of Arizona Cottonwood would be 1 to 1 1/2 inches thick.

Tom H: Thank you what a super compliment wow. I can't remember, but it was I think either you or Merle who suggested I try some moss color on the rocks. Well, you just know I couldn't stop at just color on the rocks...had to color the tree, doors and windows too. LOL

Thanks again, guys
Kathy

Hi Merle, thank you, so much really appreciate it. I do love Cottonwood, you know if someone 6 years ago would have told me I was moving to Arizona and your are going to be carving and carving Cottonwood I'd of said your kidding? What have you been into my friend? LOL
Good thing I didn't bet any money on that prediction cause I'd of lost big time.
Thanks again, Merle
Kathy

Its a great carving & painting Kathy, I'm sure your daughter will be thrilled and be very proud to hang it in a prominent spot.

Hey Mom, that is JUST what I wanted! You know me so well - except I forgot to tell you I moved to Washington State and am living at toycarver's house...uh, you can just ship that wonderful carving there. Thanks! :-)
