Default Load of Northern Basswood

The UPS man delivered 2 50+ lb boxes of good white Heinecke Northern Basswood, now I can get going on some competition pieces,if y'all have never tried Heinecke's wood, you can use a butter knife to carve it.

Wish you had posted that sooner, I would have saved a lot of money by buying butter knives instead of expensive carving knives.

Their wood can't be beat.

Anything has got to be softer than the piece of 2"x2"x4" mulberry I am trying to whittle. It's heavy and hard. One small cut and I have to sharpen my blades. I may toss it in the fire? My friend cut this huge tree down over two years ago. I thought it would be nice to carve but it is too hard.

I haven't bought anything other than Heinecke wood for over 15 years now.

If I need a big 6" x 6" piece, Dale glues two 3" x 6" pieces (both 48" long, of course, just what I want) and they are PERFECT--- absolutely perfect.
