Default A Little Entertainment LOL

As some may remember, a long time project of mine is to build a diorama of an outdoor art show and to this end I have been carving lots of tiny people (around 40+ so far) Recently I decided that I needed to have some sort of musical entertainment for those checking out the various paintings et. so have set about making a small classic trio and here is the pianist, hope to have better snaps once the group is complete. Btw. his piano is 22mm or approx 7/8 inches high..
Hope he gives you a laugh.
John

sorry to say I've missed your thread(s) about your diorama, I'll have to look them up. You little man is more than entertaining, he's impressive. You got a lot of detail into very little wood, congratulations. The diorama idea is an ambitious one too.
Thanks,
BfloBif

I am really impressed by the piano. It looks just like an old one we used to have. I have found it more difficult to carve the acessory pieces for a scene than the figure because they have to really look like something that everyone can recognize, and they can notice if something is off. A great job !!!

Nice carving, John! I'd like to see the whole setup. BTW, 22mm is about 7/8 inch...which is even more impressive.

You obviously have better eyes than me John. Too small for me to carve by far. LOL. Well done, I look forward to seeing the completed set. Joe.

Great carving John! Your little pianist will certainly fit right in with your art show diorama... Why don't you take a few photos of the carvings you've done so far on your diorama and post them for us to enjoy...always nice to see works in progress and yours sounds like it's going to be fun to see. Continue to have fun with your little art show and safe carving to you!

BfloBif,
Thanks for your comments, so glad you like him.

Slow Mover,
I appreciate your interest, I'm pleased with the piano but will give it a gloss finish to improve it slightly.

Thanks Claude
I would like to see the complete setup as well, but every time I think "that's it!, I think of something else that just has to be added <grin>
p.s thanks for correcting the measurement, don't know what I was thinking.....have edited original post

Thanks Kris,
I just hope it will look good enough to warrant all the time spent on it..........at least the chips and shavings don't leave much mess lol

Thanks Joe,
Unfortunately, I have this "thing" for miniature "hand mades" of any description and they really challenge me..........

Thanks for the nice comments Old Codger,
will try and post some snaps of other components, but hope to be able to post the complete scene pretty soon.

Gene,
many thanks for your nice words, perhaps ypou'll be pleased to know that my "little folk" are pretty well based on your tutorial for carving a little guy, the method and pattern is much the same , just smaller, so thanks again.

Regards to All
John
