Default Line carving of the USMC Emblem

A former classmate from High School asked if I could make a walking stick for him with the Eagle, Globe and Anchor on it. I didn't know if I could do it or not. So, off to the scrap pile and I found a 1 1/8" poplar dowel piece and gave it a whirl. I used the small Flexcut detail knife as my only tool.

I made something of a tutorial out of it on my blog if you would like to check that out. Welcome to Buckboard Woodworks

Comments and suggestions are welcome!

Thank you! It was a bit of challenge given the detail in the actual emblem and the size to keep as much detail as possible. It has been a long way back since February and I am excited of what I may be able to whittle in the future.
