Default Lets see those incomplete carvings finished

Well it seems to me that I have discoved though my last thread that there are all kinds of carving out there waiting for the world to discover them. I am always looking for ways generate different interests on this message board so here goes. Lets see if we can take some of those unfinished carvings and turn them into completed carvings. pictures of them as you complete them. I will start the ball rolling I will complete one of the carvings I have sitting around here and post it in the next few days. If we all completed our carvings and posted them this thread will end up probably 20 pages long. I think it would be really interesting to see carvings some started ten years ago (The one I will complete was started about that long ago) will turn out like. Just a thought, only participate if you want to, no pressure just thought it would be a fun idea.
Colin

Great idea Colin, but for me, I have set those pieces aside because I lost interest in them for one reason or another, usually because things weren't going the way they were suppose to or a knot/hole or something like that showed up and wasn't able to be incorporated into the piece. You have stirred interest so I promise I'll go out and see if there is anything worth "restoring" and I'll be sure and keep checking this thread.

Colin,I have been doing the same thing Dan did,I am my worst critic if something just does not look just right,I set it aside. This has been going on for quite awhile, since Colin brought all this to my attention,I went back to look at my unfinished products and LOL,I will get back to finishing them.

I'm headed off to summer camp with the boy scouts next week. I hope to come back with a nice stash of unpainted carvings. The week after I plan to do nothing but pain. I 'll post the best of them. looking forward to seeing other posted while I'm away.

Colin, Thank you for the challenge!
I think it's a great idea, as i have probably at least 5 dozen or so projects, some from 2003.
I recently found a little owl I started about 38 years ago, but I think it will stay the way it is because i was teenager back then. Grin!
When I have time i will get with it!!!!

This is a good idea. Might be just the motivator for some. I'll have to go see what I can dig up. Occasionally I do finish something that I started years ago...It's a nice feeling to have it done.

I'll try it again, see if I can reduce the WIP shelf again.
